Laurel Brady holds an MA in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Montclair University and has over 25 years of professional experience in the field of Special Education. She is the former Executive Director of Royce Learning Center in Savannah, Georgia; was one of ten national advisors appointed to a research study conducted by Educational Testing Service (ETS), Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD), and HEATH Resource Center in the area of post secondary education and disabilities; and was the Director of the Office of Specialized Services at Ramapo College of New Jersey, which provided support services to students with physical and learning disabilities. Laurel has published professional articles and presented to national and international audiences in her primary areas of expertise, Specific Learning Disabilities, and the transition of secondary students to post-secondary education, employment and self-sufficiency. She is member of the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA), Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) and the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD).
Helese Sandler received her Social Work degree from University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1981. Helese has worked as a Social Worker in a Child Adolescent and Family Unit dealing with a wide range of behavioral and educational problems in children and adolescents. Before moving to the United States, Helese helped to establish a child abuse clinic and a telephone counseling service for abused children in Johannesburg. For 10 years she was the program coordinator of the Tutoring Center at Royce Learning Center where she was involved in educational consulting, testing and working with students with special needs. Helese has had over 25 years experience working with and counseling children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings focusing specifically on educational and emotional needs. Helese is an affiliate of the Highland Ability Battery. Helese is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), and the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC). |
