    COLLEGE & CAREER STRATEGY

Where does this student naturally excel?

Understanding a student’s strengths goes beyond interests or the results of a personality quiz. Aptitude can be measured, providing families with meaningful insight into where a student’s abilities lie. Identifying those strengths in sixth grade rather than eleventh gives families more time to use that information to guide academic choices and future opportunities.

    WHY WE TEST

Career guidance often begins by exploring a student’s interests. Those interests can offer valuable insight, but they are naturally shaped by the experiences and opportunities a student has encountered so far. Aptitude assessment adds another layer by helping uncover strengths and abilities a student may not yet recognize in themselves.

Aptitude looks at areas such as spatial reasoning, sequential processing, idea generation, numerical reasoning, and more. The results can reveal unexpected strengths, giving students and families new possibilities to explore as they consider academic pathways and future careers.

    THE ASSESSMENT

We use YouScience, which measures aptitude through a series of timed exercises rather than self-report, and returns a personalized report connecting a student’s measured strengths to real careers and educational pathways.

    A full aptitude profile

Career matches grounded in measured ability

    Educational pathways for each match

A working session with a counselor to interpret it honestly

    DUAL-TRACK DESIGN

    A credential creates more possibilities.

For some students, pursuing a professional certification alongside a college path can provide valuable skills, experience, and additional opportunities after graduation. It is not about choosing one path over another; it is about giving students more ways to build on their strengths and interests.

A student who graduates with a college acceptance, a professional certification in a trade or technical field, and a portfolio of meaningful work enters the next chapter with multiple paths available. Whether they choose college, begin applying their skills professionally, or combine the two, they have the flexibility to make that decision based on their goals and what is right for them.

    What it looks like

A certification pursued during high school summers or through dual enrollment, matched to measured aptitude rather than chosen at random.

What it costs the college path

Designed properly, nothing. We build the timeline so the credential work sits where it does not compete with academics or activities.

    Why now

Nobody can describe the job market of the mid-2030s with confidence. A student with more than one door open is not depending on any single prediction being right.

    WHEN TO START

We assess in sixth grade where families come to us that early, and again in ninth or tenth as a student’s profile matures. Testing once in eleventh grade tells you something interesting. Testing early tells you something you can act on.
