Elementary and Middle School Specialist
Jodi works with the youngest students, at the age when a reading problem is still small enough to fix quickly.
Jodi began as a first-grade teacher and has worked with elementary and middle school students ever since, including as a teacher and assistant principal at Chatham Academy. In 2012 she founded JEA Preschool Savannah and served as its director, building an early childhood program around developmental learning and community engagement.
She holds a master's degree in elementary education with a specialization in reading. Her work concentrates on the years when intervention is most efficient — a struggling second-grade reader is a far more tractable problem than a struggling seventh-grade reader, and a good deal of what she does is making sure families understand that before another year goes by.
