Nancy Rohlfing
Coordinator, Tutoring & Test Prep
College Counseling and Tutoring Coordinator
Nancy helps middle and high school students rebuild academic confidence — and helps families find the tutor who fits what their student actually needs.
Nancy coordinates tutoring at SEC, which is really two jobs. She hires and trains the tutors, and she stays close enough to each family to know when a match isn't working. Twenty years in education, tutoring and program development taught her that the tutor who succeeds with a student is rarely the one with the most impressive résumé — it's the one whose approach fits how that student learns.
She also tutors directly: SAT and ACT preparation, English language arts, reading, math, history and study skills. Her focus is confidence as much as content. Most students she sees have already decided they're bad at a subject, and reversing that belief usually moves a grade further than another worksheet will.
